This is an aerial view of Springwell Danish Cemetery, located at 6326 Hartman Avenue. This is a small Danish cemetery that was established in 1887 (a good year for cemeteries!) on ten acres northwest of the small town of Omaha. It was long ago brought into the city limits. It's still active and new burials are common.
Springwell is managed by a lot owners association, and the records are complete and on-site in a weatherproof book. The grounds are well-kept and the stones are in good condition. Some of the engraving on the older stones is in Danish. If you have any questions about Springwell please email galenkl@aol.com, who is President of the Springwell Cemetery Association.

My father was Danish and was born in Dannebrog, Nebraska, and it's nice to see this quintessential Danish town's name at Springwell.
