Union is one of the many small pioneer cemeteries that dot the landscape here in Nebraska and Iowa. In some cases the people who were taking care of them have died, or grown older and are no longer able to do the upkeep. Union is still cared for by the Neese family.
A view through the fence. At least the cemetery is fenced, which does give it some protection from vandalism.
Here, I was trying to reach my camera around to get a shot of the farther reaches of the cemetery, and it wasn't quite successful.
